Eagle River wins CareerLaunch Innovation Award
Boys & Girls Club of Eagle River has received the 2009 CareerLaunch Innovation Award from Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Gap, Inc. The award includes a $10,000 prize in support of the Club's CareerLaunch program. The Eagle River Club has consistently run CareerLaunch as a part of the "Youth Litter Patrol" during the summer months, and the program has consistently been involved in the community as a demonstration of youth commitment and youth leadership development. Last summer, Youth Litter Patrol in Eagle River employed 12 youth. At the end of the summer program, these youth had working resumes and cover letters, experience with interviews, and time on the job -- ingredients for future success!
